Time for a easy activation in the neighborhood,  i got by public transport to Passwang Pass, in the Jura Mountains. After a hike from 1 hour i got into the Activation Area.  Since i had some time, i stared with 20m getting already enough QSO go get my points. Some S2S chasing got me 4 QSO. Calling 40m resulted in two more QSO’s. I saw the Alarm from HB9GIN and thought i wait for him. Finally i got him and HB9PIM for a S2S, they needed this contact. All of a sudden i had to hurry up, to catch my bus back home. I got it.

Today is Mountain Activation Day, as the wx Forecast is not really nice, i decided to go to a closer summit. By Public Transport we went to the the Bus stop near the Summit. Here starts a short hike to the Top. A lot of Downhill Bikes where on the trail as well. My XYL toke her book with her, so i could start installing the Antenna right away.  Calls on 40m and 60m did not get me any QSO , very strange. So i concentrated for Summit2Summit. I managed even a CW QSO.  Back at the Bus stop we went to the restaurant having a small lunch and walked back to Oensingen, by passing the Neu Bechburg Castle, where a music concert was scheduled this evening.

Today i went with my XYL for a shotz activation to the nearby Born, a Hill with 719m, This time we went from the Back side, it has an easier ascent to the top. WX was not to hot, perfect for this Hike.  After 50 minutes we got to the activation area and i started by setting up my antenna. Soon after i had my first QSO  with HB9GIN doing a first activation of HB/UR-076, together with HB9DQM, i had later a Qso with him as well on 40m. The conditions where no so good, i had not the best reports. Anyway i got enough.

The Swiss Sota Mountain Activation Day 2018 toke place the 16.06.2018, a mostly sunny day. SInce i did not have a lof of time, i decided to go to HB/SO-019 thats close to my place. My wife drove me up and after a very short walk into the activation zone i started setup the antenna. This time i have a 10m and a 7m fiber mast and erected a Inverted L with an endfed (20m) antenna.

At the beginning i concentrated working S2S with other Swiss OM. After 8 S2S i started calling CQ on my own frequency, during this time i worked UK, Norway and Portugal and swiss OM doing S2S.

During the breaks, i was throwing the frisbee for my dog, she likes this game.

On Top of the Engelberg, there is a transmitting Tower. Check out position 16.
