Furggelenstock HB/SZ-025 22.08.2023

I did not have a lot of time  for SOTA this year, but i was so hot, i wanted to go to a cooler place. Well it was cooler, but the sun was still burning like hell. By public transport you can reach Ibergeregg very easily. This pass is well known by Biker and their heavy Motorcycles. Anyway, i had to walk up to Furggelenstock and do some work up there.
During the hike i often was seeking for shadow by nearby trees. Al of sudden i was looking at a cow, that was hidden in the tree, seeking shadow as well i guess. Later i meet a young boy, explaining he is checking his cattle, there shall be 52 of them, i wished him good luck and walked on. Later i head a very loud whistle and all the cattle cam from all over the place.
at the summit there was an two Alpenzeiger, they were like a roof and one could sit underneath in the shadow. I was happy with this. On the hike back there was a sign, do not cross a herd of cows, but there was no other way back to where i started. So i walked right trough this small herd of cows. i belive they where to tired to move..

Rigi Kulm HB/SZ-021

my plan for today was to activate Calmut, with a nice Snowshoe Track. Due to a problem in Main Station Lucerne, they blow up an ATM . I had to change my plan. I went over Zurich to Arth-Goldau, from there to Rigi-Kulm.
That means no walking, no Snowshoe, just 9 easy points. At the top i found a nice windy bench for my activation. By time, the time seemed to get colder every minute. Anyway i’am here to do a Job.

Once installed, i check the 40m, but this was to busy to find a free frequency. After checking 20m i foudn a free spot for me. my fingers started freezing as i got the first QSO, even a S2S. After a quarter hour i had 10 QSO and frozen finders. Time to get a Hot Swiss coffee.

Dossen HB/SZ-035 31.03.2021

My last chance to 3 extra points was the 31. Mars 2021, the weather forecast was perfect, so i started around 6.00 UTC for my Trip to HB/SZ-035.  This summit belongs to the massif Rigi, that sits along the Lake Lucerne and others, check Wiki for this. It’s a well know area, where a lot of people are going for hiking or just taking some sun. Usually it’s also full of tourist, but due to Covid-19 it’s not crowded.

To my surprise there is still a lot of snow at the top station, they told me around 1 meter of snow. F*** i didn’t brought my snow shoes, it will be a challenge.

i really had to suffer to get these extra point, some times i sunk up to my waist in to the snow, the way back was not easier. I was compete exhausted at the end of the day, but i got my point and two S2S.

Rigi Kulm HB/SZ-021 15.09.2019

Rigi is a peak in the Region central Switzerland and very well known by everybody and crowded on Sunday. There are three ways to get to the top. Either from Arth-Goldau, Weggis and Vitznau. The latter usually reached preferable by steamboat on the Lake of Lucerne.

There are two Summits within this Region, Rigi Kulm and Dosse. The outlook from this place is realy impressive.

The Swiss Verkehrshaus Lucerne, is a museum, that shows you all kind of transportation, new or old transportation, like train, plane, vessel etc. They have a Amateur Radio Station located there. They operate with a special call sign “HB9O“. My first QSO with them. Everyone can go there an try out their CV skills.

Later we walked back to Rigi Kaltbad, then back to Lucerne by steamboat and a galss of white wine. perfect conclusion of this activation.
